MJS Boat Transport is very pleased to introduce the latest vehicle and trailer to join our operation in the shape of our Volvo 40 tonnes artic unit and new tri-axle purpose built boat trailer.

This new vehicle and trailer means that we now have the capability to safely transport motorboats and yachts up to 20 tonnes in weight. We can also carry a customer’s own trailer and boat together on our specially designed boat trailer.

Company owner Mike Szraga says: “Previously we were only capable of carrying boats up to 5 tonnes in weight and our customers were increasingly asking for us to carry bigger and heavier boats and yachts, and this new vehicle will enable us to meet their requirements”.

“The 40 tonnes Volvo and new purpose built trailer will operate to and from our base at Loch Lomond, Scotland and throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe”.

Please do Not try this yourself! We were recently asked to collect this badly damaged boat and trailer from Loch Fyne in Argyll and transport it to Essex. The boat weighed in about 3.5 tonnes and the trailer weighed about 1 ton. The boat and trailer were being towed privately by the boat owner using a 4x4 vehicle that was only legally allowed to tow 3 tons. The result being that the driver lost control on a hill and jack-knifed the vehicle. The boat became detached from the trailer and continued on down the road upside down on its roof. Luckily no one was seriously injured but the 4x4 vehicle, the trailer, plus the boat, were totally written off.
